I am in search of the PERFECT chocolate chip cookie recipe. I have some that I really like, and I've tried many, but I have yet to find that "perfect" recipe for our family. I LOVE my Aunt Chris's chocolate chip cookies, but mine never turn out as good as hers. So I'm in search of my own perfect cookie for our family. If you have a chocolate chip cookie recipe that you love, please do share. Wish my luck on my quest!

Yea, so I buy the tub of Nestle cookie dough at Costco. I know I'm lazy but it seems to save my sanity. Good luck though. You are a better woman than I.
Hey Heather, do you like the fluffy-chewy-soft type, or the a-little-bit-crisp type?
If you liek soft ones, I have a great recipie, but I don't know how it would turn out in the Texas humidity!
BTW, that CD will come soon, sorry! I thought I had sent it, then I came across the package the other day...so much for my brain! :) Evidently I have tucked that away somewhere too......
Weston actually went on a strike for a while where he'd only eat my neighbor's cookies (he dubbed her "Grandma Cookie"). Now he'll eat mine again, but only if they're frozen. :)
Here's my recipe.
2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
4 eggs
3 t. vanilla
Cream everything really well.
1 c. oatmeal
5 c. flour
2 t. soda
1 t. salt
1 bag choc. chips
Mix, roll into balls and bake at 350 for 13-16 minutes.
You can leave out the oatmeal if you want, I like to justify that they're a tiny bit better for him if I put it in. I like them that way.
Here's the perfect recipe that takes a bunch of ingredients, but is well worth it.
Chocolate Chip Heath Cookies:
Cream: 1 Cup Butter
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Brown Sugar
Add: 2 Eggs
1 Tbs. Vanilla
2 Cups Flour
2 1/2 Cups Oatmeal
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. Baking Soda
Mix mix mix (your arm may get tired!)
Then: 1 Bag MILK chocolate chips
1/2 Bag Score Toffee Pieces
Mix mix mix again...
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet @ 375 degrees for approx 8-10 minutes. When LIGHTLY browned you know they're done. Let them sit on the cookie sheet for a couple minutes before removing. They're pretty tasty.
I have a plain old chocolate chip cookie recipe too though that it super awesome if you want it. Talk to you later! Love the blog by the way!
Have you found the perfect recipe yet?? My family makes the Mrs. Fields cookies- they are the best in my opinion. I've posted the recipe over at http://bestrecipesoutthere.blogspot.com/
